Chronologically, this is the final Bastard marriage which is recorded in the arms displayed in the hall. Rev W P Bastard (q.v. shield 23) was succeeded by his son William Edmund Pollexfen Bastard, born 12th April 1864, who married Rosamund Isabel, daughter of Abraham Briggs Foster of Canwell Hall, Staffordshire, on 14th April 1890. After her death he remarried, on 15th Feb 1921, Edith Marian, daughter of F T Bulteel of Radford. He died on 14th June 1924, and shortly afterwards the Manor of Buckland in the Moor was sold to the Whitleys of Welstor, thereby ending the reign of three centuries (fourteen generations) of Bastards who had been Lords of Buckland.

He was succeeded at Kitley by Colonel Reginald Bastard, DSO & Bar, born 2nd Oct 1880, who married Lilian, widow of Capt C G V Wellesley, daughter of J W Summers, on 6th Feb 1919. Colonel Bastard served in the Boer War 1900-02, WW1 1914-19, and WW2 1940-45 as Sector Commander Plymouth HG. He died on 20th May 1960 and was succeeded by John Rodney Pollexfen Bastard, born 14th Feb 1921, who in 1946 married Josephine Ernestine, daughter of Capt Robert Peel Dennistoun-Webster, DSC RN, of Brixton. John R P Bastard served in WW2 1941-46 in the Grenadier Guards.

The blazon for the next shield, the multiple coat above the fireplace, will be unnecessarily long if given in full, and might lead to confusion, and so the details are summarised, providing full blazons only for those arms which are not displayed on other shields in the hallway (under which numbers the blazons may thus be found) –
